Brothers and Sisters,
As we approach Election Day, I want to inform the membership of the candidates that IBEW Local 589 has endorsed and the reasons behind those endorsements.
During our recent strike, these elected officials stood with us when we needed their support most. They walked our picket lines, attended our rallies, and worked behind the scenes to put pressure on the MTA to reach a fair agreement.
As your elected representative, I believe I have an obligation to inform the membership of which candidates have demonstrated a commitment to protecting our interests as working men and women, including fair wages, workplace safety, benefits, and the right to collectively bargain. Our endorsements are based on these principles, not political party affiliation. The candidates are as follows:

How you vote is a personal decision, based on the issues and values that matter most to you. We respect that choice. Our purpose is simply to make you aware of those who stood with us during a time when we needed their support most.
Regardless of which candidates you support, I encourage every member to exercise their right to vote. Your vote matters, and your voice deserves to be heard!
In Solidarity,
Jeffrey Klein
President
IBEW, Local Union 589
